Easy Do It Yourself Personalized Aprons

T-shirt Aprons are a thing?

Interested in a how-to/do-it-yourself Apron? We’ve searched Pinterest and picked out some of our favorite Do-It-Yourself Apron pins. Whether you’re cooking or crafting, aprons are a go-to uniform item to save your clothes and keep you looking sharp… or trendy… whatever floats your boat.

Check out this neat DIY by the fine folks at Ruffles and Stuff. If you own a vintage and old T-shirt, or take a trip to the local thrift store like we do, you’re likely to have a great time creating a fun and cute apron you can rock around the kitchen, at your BBQ, or gift to one of your favorite Grill masters.

All you need is a T-shirt, scissors, thread/needles, and some pins. Doesn’t get much more economical than that! I love this repurpose idea because I tend to hold unto old t-shirts for an absurd amount of time. Like, nearly a decade (eek!).

How about an easy square no sew apron option?

Check out this version by A Beautiful Mess; simple, clean and easy!

A square apron is made from a square piece of fabric. Which makes it SUPER simple to make, but you can change the size of the square depending on your height and desired fit.

Time for a Quickie? Here’s a Pillowcase Apron

Check out this idea by PhotoSarah Crafts. Sarah took a nicely patterned pillowcase, made a few cuts and made a great looking apron.

I used the open end of the pillowcase for the bottom hem of the apron. It only took two cuts to go from pillowcase to apron shape. I cut off the top two corners and turned the edges under and pinned them in place. Then I seam-ripped along the straight edges on the top and sides to make openings for the straps. After pinning the straps in place, I topstitched around all the edges, securing the turned under parts, the straps and the open bottom of the pillowcase.
